Waitemata Team Board Game Day

The Waitemata Team (Years 5 & 6) held a research day on Tuesday 16th October. Their task was to research a variety of existing board games. What better way to do this then to gather with our friends and actually play them!

It wasn’t all just play, however. The students needed to evaluate the appeal of each game, to highlight the positive and negative features of each game they played, and to comment on the effectiveness of the instructions, the design of the packaging and the suitability to the suggested age group.

From here, the students will be designing and making a board game with a particular purpose and age group in mind.

We had so much fun researching the different games available; there was certainly lots of concentration, laughter and frustration present in the hall that day!

Watch this space, we are really looking forward to creating our games!
